We’re still taking donations for the work in Liberia with Joe Lieway and Bible Faith Churches. There will be small brown envelopes at the back table that are made out to the Revolution for our Liberia fund. Our goal is to raise $11,000 to support infrastructure and transportation repair, as well as construction on the trade school being built by our partner Bible Faith Churches to allow people there to learn the skills they need to have better lives.

If you haven’t paid for your copy of Sylane Mack’s book yet, you can do that by clicking on the Giving link to pay for that right now. Please.

We still need hard-working people who don’t mind getting up a bit early on Sunday Mornings to help with setup and teardown. For inquiries, look for the guys in the black “Revo Tech Team” t-shirts in the back of the ballroom on Sundays or contact Joel Replogle.

Church next week will be in the Student Center Ballroom at 11am. It’ll be our last Sunday service in the Ballroom until August. We’ll let you know where church will be this summer as soon as we figure all that out.

Prayer

Hey folks! Sorry for the late notice, if you haven’t already heard! We’re having church this Sunday in Cardinal Hall A, B, and C. It’ll be at the same time—11am—though. We didn’t want to throw you too many curveballs at once.

By the way, Cardinal Hall is just down the hall from the Ballroom at the Student Center, so even if you forget and accidentally go to the wrong place, no big deal. Just look down the hall and you’ll should see Revo people.

P.S. This is the last big Sunday service for Revo until August. We’re still hammering out the details for Summer Revo, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have it all figured out.

This Sunday…

Pastor Carl Frost spoke about the duality that existed in the early Church: how much easier it seemed for people to be stuck in the ways of the old law, preferring rituals and customs that they had kept for generations to honor God instead of truly letting the Gospel infiltrate their way of life. We do this in our lives as well. Instead of being willing to submit to Christ’s freedom, we prefer to live in a stale, legalistic, ritualistic Christianity. Jesus calls us to something better: loving submission to the new covenant which leads to complete freedom.

This Sunday…

Pastor Neil Kring spoke about the temptation to be controlled by the rules, expectations, and desires of humanity. He talked about those in the church in Galatia who were still choosing to follow the Mosaic Law instead of trusting in the new covenant and relationship we have with God through Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Message Audio

Scripture Verses and Quotes

Galatians 4:8-20

Philippians 3:7-9

“If we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” — C.S. Lewis

Worship Setlist

Jesus Paid It All — Samuel Beazly

How Great Is Our God — Chris Tomlin

Only You — David Crowder* Band

Mighty To Save — Hillsong United

Let Me Sing — Todd Fields

Everything Glorious — David Crowder* Band

Announcements

The Revo Women’s Retreat is coming up April 13-14th at the Wandering Wheel in Upland. The cost is $25 and that includes dinner, desssert, and brunch. Pastor Jeff Eads shared today about the process of trusting God and the blessing he has shown through so many other people all over the country to make this event possible.

There’s still time to be thinking about Leadership Training 2012. Information will be given over the next couple of Sundays during announcements. For more info, you can go to the LT website.

We need hard-working people who don’t mind getting up a bit early on Sunday Mornings to help with setup and teardown. For inquiries, look for the guys in the black “Revo Tech Team” t-shirts in the back of the ballroom on Sundays or contact Joel Replogle.

Church next week will be in the Student Center Ballroom at 11am.

Prayer

Pray for the people from our church and campus churches across the country preparing for summer Leadership Training in Virginia Beach, VA. A lot goes into that, including raising support and spiritually preparing for the jourey of LT. Ask God if he would move in your heart to give you a desire to be a part LT. There’s still time.

Pray for the women taking part in our Women’s Retreat coming up in a few weeks. God has moved incredibly and faithfully in making such an event not only possible, but the truly life-changing event we know His Grace will make it.

If you have any prayer requests, you can contact staff members by going to our staff page.

Attention, Revo folks! Church tomorrow is not going to be located in the Student Center Ball Room as is usual. Instead we will be meeting for an otherwise completely normal service in the Arts and Journalism Building’s main first-floor lecture hall: AJ 175. Look for our Revo tear-drop banner outside the Atrium tomorrow morning if you aren’t sure where to go.

And hey, look at it this way, at least you won’t have to walk very far to Chick-fil-a….

…oh, right. Sbaro then?
